| Jim,
My husband and I were among those fortunate enough to be at your concert, "A Colorado Christmas", at the Wheeler Opera House on December 16. What a beautiful concert it was. It was one of the highlights of this Christmas season for us. Aspen was beautiful with the full moon shinning on those snow covered mountains. Now we know what John was writing about when he wrote, Aspen Glow. Thank you for continuing to bless us with your beautiful music. May you and your family have a healthy and prosperous New Year. I'm already a fan! I'll be ordering some of your work soon, but just curious... is the "Soul by the Side of the Road" tune in recorded form for purchase? Either way, great work. I look forward to hearing much more of your talents. |

| Jim,
It was a true pleasure to see and hear you perform at the NASB/NASA State Education Conference this fall. I love the Bristlecone Pine song. I had to go play the CD of it to my good friend Tom Schroeder as soon as I got back home. Tom is a fine musician and song writer himself who plays to his customers on pizza night every thursday night in Dannebrog, in between making pizza that is. He is the German guy who runs the Danish Baker Bakery. We hope to make it to your performance in Minden next January. I would like to buy you a famous Danish Baker Pizza if you and your family are ever in Dannebrog on a thursday night. May God Bless your life. |

| Geting to listen to you and see you again was sheer luck and my good fortunel To remember the times of Kearney and then meet your wife, and hear of your family is great.
Jim, if you could, I am planning to teach an unique method of tennis to children who are very young and just staring the sport. I plan to introduce other motivational ideas to complement the actual teaching method. One idea is to use your Zoo music and liven up the thoughts of strokes so little kids look to it as more fun.
I would like to find out if your songs with animals from the zoo could be used in my project.
This teaching method I thought up and did when a pro at Sioux city Iowa and was published in the highest level of professional tennis magazine. I just started doing this year as a hobby and now am thinking of putting it together. It is adapted from my studies with Vic Braden when I was with him in California.
I could fax the article to you and explain more but if you are not interested then please get back to me. It would be a one to two year project with a presentation before Tennis Professionals at a regional and then national conference. It is pie in the sky, but when I taught it to kids the past month I could see the glimer in their eyes of learning the sport and it enthused the passion for me to try this dream.
Hope you are well in Colorado, I love trout fishing near Estes at least once a year.
Your three CDs, esp. the Rainbow song motivated me to write you.

I'm from the Kearney area (Gibbon in the mid 70's, but live in Lincoln now, and have somewhat followed your (and brother Chuck's) career from the "Timberline" days (Stanal Sound & Dusty's Records). It's wonderful to see you continuing to use the exceptional talents God has given you in song writing and performing. Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing you again when your in Lincoln or the surrounding area. |

You won't remember me...but I worked at KLGT in Breckenridge CO in the early 80's, and you were a mainstay with us.
Actually found your site while Googling Terry Hartsook, who apparently is now here in Virginia as well. What led me to Terry was another Google search of another former Breckenridge friend, such is the nature of Surfing the 'Net.

| Jim, When we arrived in Crested Butte on July 9th and saw the advertisement for the Tribute to John Denver Concert in Gunnison starring Jim Salestrom, we could hardly believe our eyes! It had been way too long since we had heard you sing and here we were, quite by accident, looking forward to hearing you again. We called as soon as we found the ad to get tickets for our family and eagerly anticipated Tuesday night. It was so wonderful to hear you perform again, to hear the familiar songs that we remembered so well from our nights in Breckenridge. We enjoyed the evening more than you will ever know and listened to your CD's all the way back home to Oklahoma. It was great to see you again and hope that you, Pam, Casey and James will visit us in Tulsa sometime. THANK YOU for a marvelous evening!!

| Dear Mr. Salestrom, Dear Jim,
My 14-year-old son and I were introduced to Frash Tracks in a bookstore at Breckenridge last March while asking around for local music we could incorporate in our skiing vacation movie!
The Rainbow is Shining Down, has become our song which we sing in the car together (changing "loving brother" to "loving son/dad"). Blue River Dreaming is our "going to the mountains" title song... every song means something to us. We used most of them in the 98-minute movie and they helped us find a meaning and plot to our film... we know all the words by heart.
I want to thank you for sharing your talent in your CDs. And I want to say, in my humble opinion, the structure of your songs, the arrangements, the poetry, radiates a musical genius so sorely missed, so often, in commercial music. Maybe because your music is not "commercial"... Well, if that is so, I wish "commercial" music was the kind that you create. We are at a loss that your work has not been circulated nationally...
I grew up singing John Denver, and, in your songs I discovered how a song can be extremely intricate, yet sound simple to the ear; how a song can be a story of many levels, fully able to be enjoyed and appreciated at any level.
Our movie "Rocky Mountain Dreaming" has even borrowed the inspiration of the title from your poetry and has in it all the songs except Scotland, West Virginia Girl and Oceans Blue (which we are saving for the summer movie). I am currently adding Greek subtitles in the DVD version for his grand parents in Athens and ...I don't know how to translate "Read's Leap"... in fact Costas (my son) and I are still wondering what the words "Read's Leap" mean! can you help us? please?
Where in Greece will you be performing? we'll be there in August! too late? We'd love to send you a DVD of our movie so you may approve our use of the work that defined this year for us...
respectfully,
with best regards,

No other music has moved me until I heard your music. Don't change! The world needs your message.I know that my children will benefit from your music as I have. The Rockies are not dead and neither is great music. Your voice and what your music stands for will fill the void left by John. While I have had the pleasure to see live performances by Timberline and Jim, this was a first for my wife and 5 year old son. We unanimously want to express our hope that we get more opportunities to see you perform live in the future -- maybe even in Omaha!
By the way, the Zoo song is a staple in our two year old's routine. It's probably a good thing he didn't attend as he would have been wondering about the lack of giraffes.
