| Jim! It is amazing to me that we keep crossing paths..(circling). Met your friend Pete Huttlinger in Knoxville, playing with The New Rascals (also personal friends), he was laughing when I told him you were the reason I started back playing again....Hooked! Love your music, Love the Man, Kiss The Family for Me and Denise, we have finally retired (again) from Fort Myers to Dandridge, TN .. Hope to see you at Dollywood again sometime..

| Jim, I was thrilled when I finally found that you sold the the CD of the Great Timber Rush. I've been looking for that everywhere and alot of places had no clue what I was talking about. Never heard of the Timberline group. That album brings back so many memories and now I'm waiting for it to arrive so I can listen to it. Music is what soothes the soul. So thank-you for sharing your talent, for your music comes from the heart and has touched many. |

| It has been years since I have heard the Salestrom's, but found you again on the web. Purchased your Timberline album when first out and still play it, remembering how good you were in music at Kearney High. Weather permitting hope to see and hear you at Minden in November. KHS '75

| Jim,
We first met you at a concert in Keystone. You then did a show at my son's elementary school (Summit County). We moved away from there in 2003 for some stupid reason and landed in McCook, NE. We found out that you and your brother were going to play in McCook and we made sure of it that we attended your show. Your song about going home to Colorado, hit my wife like a ton of bricks. You gave my son Cody a CD and signed it for him.
As you know, McCook is a small town, and by the time we left your show and got to our house, my wife looked at me with this "deer in the headlights" look and said "we're moving home". Shortly after that our house sold and we were headed back to Denver. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

| What a wonderful concert last night at the Merryman. It always does the heart good to hear you reminisce about your family and experiences while touring. I talked to a lady today whose daughter was at your concert in the afternoon and her daughter thought the music was great especially the "Zoo" song. Our best to you and your family. | Jim you were an inspiration to me when i used to hear you play in Kearney Nebraska with Timberline. I now play the piano for other peoples enjoyment.
You have taught me that being a musician is not about money but it is about the music. God bless you and I hope to see you again someday!!

| Hi Jim, gosh, I hadn't seen you since the mid-70's at Kearney State! Went to the Rockies/Cubs game last week and there you were singing the national anthem. I told my friend, "Hey, I knew that guy in college" and he said "No way!" We were the goofs who yelled "KEARNEY STATE" at you on your way out. Found your website today & listened to "Timberline" once more....can't believe it's been more than 30 years since I heard it....all those KSC memories came flooding back and it seemed like yesterday! Thanks for giving me a piece of my youth! I'm thrilled to know you've had such a great career; you worked hard and no one deserves it more than you. Go Lopers! :) |

I mean, you guys are like real cool. The sound and everything just is a good mesh. I play guitar myself, but nothing like you. I mean, I listen to Noam Pikeney on the banjo, and think Gabe Witcher on the fiddle is a cool thing. ...and sometimes, when my caregiving work buddy Artemis goes home before I do...I pull out the Rhonda Vincent photos. Thanks, for making my work day a bit nicer. Bluegrass is cool. Its okay to send an e-mail if you find the time. Kurt & Artemis |

| Hi Jim! I temporarily have left my beloved state of Vermont to be with my sister and her family in PA. Feeling out of sorts and lost, with the majority of my belongings in storage, INCLUDING MY MUSIC! I found myself seeking solace on the WEB...and then, there you were! I have ordered a disc just to temporarily alleviate the "pain," until I can dig the rest of the tapes/discs out of boxes. I have strong, fond memories of Breck, The Whale's Tail, and nights spent listening to you. I hope you and Pam, et al, are doing well, and wish you'd consider a tour out this way...you played at the Washington Resort in NH, and it was AWESOME! Please send my disc ASAP, and consider a visit to New England, soon! |

| I first met Bill Howland when I was in 5th grade. Bill and his family had moved to Waterloo, Iowa, from Milton Jct., Wisconsin. Bill and I were both avid rail fans and model railroaders, yet, I swear he had forgotten more about railroading, than I ever knew. My autographed "Timberline" LP reads, "Erie Lackawana Railroad forever!" Ironically, both he and the railroad are long gone. Bill was talented, intelligent, and very friendly. We were like brothers. I have never forgotten him or gotten over losing him, for that is what a brother does. When he was in "Timberline," he always called me when the band played in Waterloo. Listening to the album reminds me of a simpler time, Bill, and also meeting the band. Like Bill, Jim and the rest of the band were also very friendly, outgoing, and, very talented. "Timberline" forever! |

| Jim,
I was quite impressed with your graciousness and even temper at DIA several days ago after we had destroyed your Martin ... thank heavens it wasn't your D-45! Being a 31 year veteran as a customer service rep with a major airline, it takes a very unique person to impress me in such a fashion. But after listening to "Beneath the Big Sky" which you gave me as a gift, I am even more impressed with your virtuosity as a guitarist.
Thank you for entering my musical life. |

| Hi Jim,
I just heard your music for the first time. I stumbled across an album, in perfect shape I might add, at a thrift store. It is entitled, "The Great Timber Rush" by Timberline. What an amazing record! To think this was recorded over 30 years ago!
"We've got to climb, closer to time
Up on the Timberline
Where the air is fresh, problems less
Just let the breeze caress your mind"
Blessings, Glenn

| I'm almost certain I heard you and your band for the first time in McCook, Nebraska, in 1975, but it was either sometime in 1977 or 1978 that I sat with several of my best drinking buddies (fresh from an afternoon at the Buffalo Chips Saloon in downtown Kearney) in the crowd at Cushing Coliseum on the campus of good 0l' Kearney State College at what I remember being announced as Timberline's final concert. It was a sad evening for us. Your album had had a permanent place on all our turntables for some time, so we wouldn't have missed that concert for the world. We had a great time! We sat toward the back and hammered away on the metal folding chairs in front of us to the beat of your music, singing along at the top of our lungs. I'm sure we were fairly obnoxious! Over the years I have checked in used record stores and on-line in hopes of finding a copy of the Timberline album, but now that I've found your website, search over! Thanks for that then, and for this now. My order will soon be on the way! |
